our history
Allenco Marine Limited may have only been around for a few years but its experience dates back over a quarter of a century.
Harvey started his boat building apprenticeship with Alan Pepper of the then Matamata Engineering. Which was one of the first builders of heavy duty custom aluminium boats. Specialising in Aluminium Tri Hulls, Catamarans and Mono Hulls.
In 2000 Alan Pepper retired giving Harvey and Melissa the opportunity to keep the business running as Allenco Aluminium Limited. This is where Harvey first met Martin and Karen Douglas when they approached him to build a boat for them back in 2001. During the building of their boat “Overdraft” Harvey and Martin got to know each other well. When Martin relocated his family to Matamata, Harvey offered Martin a job which eventually lead to them starting Allenco Marine. At the same time they moved from their Garland Street premises to the new building purpose-fitted for the job in Waihou Street. Where they have continued to produce a number of high quality custom built boats.
Allenco Marine also specialises in one off builds for specific applications.
